The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Awards on tour

 

The Charity Retail Association has hit the road, celebrating incredible charity shop teams across the UK as part of The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop Awards. From Edinburgh to Plymouth, the team is visiting regional winners to personally hand out their awards and thank those who make such a difference on the high street.

🌟 London Winner – Salvation Army, Walthamstow

On 3 November, Robin Osterley and Hannah Weet visited Sally in the Stow, the Salvation Army’s Walthamstow shop, joined by MP Stella Creasy and church leader Julie Pell. Julie said:

“We are over the moon to win this award… Our ‘Sally in the Stow’ is more than a shop — it’s a friendly, safe space that enables us to support many local people.”

 
🌟 East of England Winner – Cancer Research UK Boutique, Harpenden

On 1 November, Robin Osterley met the Cancer Research UK team in Harpenden to celebrate their win. Jo Mewett, Head of Retail Operations, said:

“Our Harpenden store is the nation’s favourite in the East of England — thanks to our amazing staff, volunteers, and shoppers.”

 

🌟 Yorkshire & the Humber Winner – Barnsley Hospice Shop

On 31 October, David Longmore, Deputy Chair of the Charity Retail Association, joined the team at Barnsley Hospice. CEO Martine Tune shared:

“This is a testament to our volunteers and staff who always strive for excellence. They’ve rightfully been recognised for their commitment and hard work.”

 
🌟 West Midlands Winner – Marie Curie, Knowle

The Marie Curie Shop in Knowle was named the favourite in the West Midlands. Retail Manager Rowan Saunders told the Solihull Observer:

“It’s an honour to be named the West Midlands’ favourite charity shop. Our volunteers’ passion and hard work make all the difference.”

 
🌟 East Midlands Winner – Willow Wood Hospice, West Glossop

Emma Peake, Chair of the Charity Retail Association, presented the award to Willow Wood Hospice in West Glossop. Shop Manager Caroline Lillis said:

“This award is for our community — our customers are like family to us, and we couldn’t do it without their loyalty and support.”

 
🌟 South East Winner – Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, Haddenham

The Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity in Haddenham welcomed Robin Osterley and Hannah Weet on 22 October. Shop Manager Jill Buttery accepted the award surrounded by over 30 of the shop’s 84 volunteers, as Chief Executive Jo Turner and Chair of Trustees Noel Ratcliffe joined the celebrations.
